3,2,1... I'm back in the room. Just about.

Christ, I need a bloody holiday. 9 days on the lash in the city that never sleeps is fun, but dear God it's exhausting :) So, what did I get up to? No idea. Can't remember half of it. Oh, alright, that's a bit dramatic so here's the highlights (cue dramatic BBC news-style drums):
  • Out until 4 or 5am every night bar a couple. Sheesh.
  • Hit bars, clubs, pool joints, gigs, parks, piers, other people's abodes, roof terrace parties and probably some places I've forgotten all about
  • Watched a number of films: Stay (3.5/5 - hard to follow), Hostel (2/5 - utter, utter tripe), Wolf Creek (4/5 - genuinely bloody terrifying), Hard Candy (4/5 - complex and very well-acted. Seriously dark material too), Munich (4/5 - hard to follow due to hangover but gripping nonetheless)
  • Met a lot of great people and managed to see particular ones I desperately wanted to see again
  • Got mildly sunburned on the Tuesday. Weather was very good the whole trip
  • Celebrated St George's Day in serious style with about 14 of us spending a whole day in a bar garden, amounting to a cool $500 bill (without food - ouch) before going on somewhere else for late night tipples
  • Met a guy so drunk he was almost delirious. He randomly dropped in lines into conversation such as "I make up stories about strangling puppies sometimes", and "You look like you'd be a good dancer. I bet you dance like a nymph". Alright then mate.
Only took photos on my phone and nothing touristy as I've done those on past trips. Big thanks to all out there again. Jim for putting me up and surviving another week of liver-bashing craziness, Jessica for a great, crazy night out and for being around, Texas Jay for the crazy stories, Florida and Shane for amazing bar work as always, 54 for a couple of nutty nights out, Kerri for the good conversations and a much-needed hart-to-heart, These Nuts for making my head hurt with more Jamies than I've ever drunk in my life, Meghan for the always-excellent espresso martinis, Nine Inch for the footie invites, Paul Daly for the gig invite a mad St George's Day, George (Roger) for being an excellent honorary Brit, Sammy 'Geezer' Villa for the usual craziness I have with you :), Leigh Chelsea for managing to stay out with us for 36 hours straight (ouch), Sophie, Leo and Mei Mei for a at least one relatively gentle night out, Bennie for some great stories on St George's Day, Erin for the great slugger story. And to anyone else I may have missed (I'll add you if I have - bit tired at the moment). Kidneys ache, still shattered and have work tomorrow (boo). Good to be back - ready to come home. Don't think I'll be going out for a while though :) Here's some of the photos from the trip.
